Location: Melrose Park
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Transportation, or designate, is responsible for supervising all field operations which includes investigating accidents, passenger incidents, vehicle breakdowns and monitoring the performance of Bus Operators; conducting continuous checks on schedules, routes, passenger loads and boarding, and road conditions to ensure Bus Operators adhere to Pace rules and schedules; assisting and instructing Bus Operators on maintaining service in emergency situations; performing Dispatch duties as needed; and performing other duties as assigned. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week. This is a safety sensitive position.
NOTE: This is a bargained for position (Union) and is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualified candidate must be at least 21 years of age; have a valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or equivalent and a clean driving record; have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in transportation; have extensive knowledge of the RTA transit system and Pace's service area; have the ability to effectively supervise Bus Operators; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to make quick and accurate decisions; and have a good work history.
