Data Manager

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Division Manager, Chicago ADA Services, is responsible for supervising Data Management staff and managing all data pertaining to Pace Paratransit services including but not limited to: creating/writing queries using advanced SQL coding and Microsoft Access; developing reports from Trapeze database, including ViewPoint; data entry into database(s); generating output of Paratransit data for all services managed by the Paratransit Department, this includes but not limited to: Mobility Direct, Taxi Access Program, ADA paratransit services, local Dial-A Ride programs, and local coordinated paratransit projects; budgeting and planning; developing Crystal Reports for advanced reporting not available through queries or standard reports; creating custom maps in ArcMap for geographical data analysis; assisting with the preparation of Requests for Proposals for procurement of services and providing all data required in the appropriate or required format; assisting in compiling and reporting data for audits and annual reporting to agencies such as the Regional Transportation Authority and National Transportation Department; managing the assessment of key performance indicators for each Contractor to assess contract compliance and to assist to the Project Managers to achieve service efficiency; participating in service assessments and making recommendations for improvements in the use of data for service evaluation, monitoring and oversight; developing forecasts of the City of Chicago and suburban services for Budget/Planning; providing support in the day to day operations of Pace Paratransit services as required; assessing reporting flow and maintaining report archive; developing processes for the dissemination of information to the appropriate user; attending internal meetings, conducting presentations, and representing Pace at external meetings; provides support and trouble shoots IT/Trapeze related issues, assists in Division's software evaluation, acts as lead power user for beta testing projects for Paratransit, and serves as liaison between Chicago office and Headquarters for all Trapeze related issues including IT projects; and performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Transportation, Business, Logistics or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Must have a valid State of Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana driver's license and a clean driving record. Must have a minimum of 3 years management experience and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Data Warehouse analysis, experience with US DOT/FTA ADA Transportation, Paratransit Operations, working for or with public and private agencies is preferred. Must have experience and demonstrate moderate to advanced proficiency with structured query language, including Oracle MySQL environment, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, ArcGIS/ArcMap and Microsoft Project Management. Must be highly proficient in the use of computer software. Must possess moderate to advanced skill level using PLAN and Microsoft Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with a demonstrated ability to utilize pivot tables and macros. Must be familiar with Trapeze (transit scheduling and routing software) including Viewpoint dashboards and reporting module. Must demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills; must be customer-service oriented and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills; must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail oriented; must be adept at giving sound direction and following up to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion; must have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines; must possess strong math skills; and must possess excellent public speaking skills. Work is performed in an office environment but to travel to Pace contractor sites and Pace garages within the six county RTA region and travel outside of the RTA region is also required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
