Job Description: Under the direction of the Chief Procurement Officer, the position is responsible to support the business objectives of Pace to procure materials, supplies, bus parts, fuel and services to manage Pace's inventory to support the organization's service goals. Directs and manages the activities, initiatives, policies, procedures and methodologies of the department. Exercise sound and rational judgment in application of established lean inventory principles and procurement principles. The position is required to respond to audits and ensure all audit deficiencies are addressed. Duties will include, but are not limited to, managing the assignment and coordination of the work of the Materials Management team; assessing personnel needs, schedules, and staff performance to ensure timely completion of purchases, maintaining adequate inventory controls and removal of obsolete inventory as required. Establish goals and objectives, and direct and prioritize special projects. The position will also assist with the annual budget (fuel) preparation as needed. Manage the formulation of overall objectives, policies and necessary standard operating procedures for the Materials Management staff and department end users. Responsible for establishing and managing performance measurements, management reports, trending markets such as fuel and oil, and making recommendations for action. Exercise excellent customer service with feedback to the end users on status of requisitions and other related matters. Conducts sound contract administration. Prepare, administer and monitor a training program for new staff.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Public Administration or related field is required. Ten to fifteen years of material management experience is preferred. Must be proficient using Microsoft Applications and ERP System. Must be proficient in preparing written documents and analytical reports related to the job duties.
