Senior Application Database Administrator

Under the direction of the Department Manager, Enterprise Data Services, the Administrator's purpose is to focus on the logical aspects of database administration, maintain Oracle Applications and business intelligence/data warehousing solutions, and act as a data steward to ensure data quality. Manage and administrate all Oracle systems, Microsoft SQL, Server, including all their corresponding or associated software; administration of the Oracle E-Business Suite environment and other database integrated software packages; manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases and data transfer; manage all Oracle and SQL Server middleware components including Grid Control; create, monitor and administer SQL jobs to maintain database and to transfer data from one database to the other; administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights for Oracle and SQL Server; monitor application related jobs and data replication activities; monitor and tune all Oracle Databases and SQL Server; performs data analysis skills to build and maintain data Warehouse/Business Intelligence solutions; review design and implement/maintain disaster recovery plan for Oracle and SQL server databases; analyze system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in Oracle and SQL Server Database capacity; act as a data steward to ensure data standards, quality, and maintenance of data. Ensures sufficient data quality is maintained so that the data can effectively support the business process; conduct research on emerging SQL server and Oracle products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts; interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services; develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use; assist dbs developers with database activities; provides on-call technical support 24/7; monitors and test server software performance and provide statistics and reports; recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases; write request for proposals and Task Requests; plan project schedules for IT goals.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Four to six years of Oracle, SQL Server Database application database administration, Oracle E-Business Suite, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing including and Data Stewardship experience. Work is performed in a normal office environment. Must be proficient in computer word processing programs and computer applications to the extent required by specific job functions, and must be prepared to write documents related to job duties using the word processing applications.
