Department Manager, Revenue Services
Location: Arlington Heights
Reporting directly to the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, provides direct supervision of Revenue Services administrative staff. Plans and coordinates all administrative, financial and operational activities for the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer to assist with facilitation of efficient and informed decision making. Provides management and coordination of work assignments and follows up to ensure accurate and timely completion of work completed by the direct reports to the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. Coordinates new projects within the Office of the General Manager. Provides administrative staff with assignments and reviews same for content and accuracy, oversees reporting requirements, and oversees and coordinates all budgets within the Office of General Manager. Manages all correspondence and purchase requisitions, and trains support staff, provides counsel to staff, develops job descriptions, manages and develops performance appraisals, and administers discipline. Interview potential candidates for various positions within the Office of the General Manager. Provides status reports on all matters to the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. Represents the General Manger/Chief Operating Officer at meetings. Responsible for performing other duties as assigned or required. This position is on call 24/7.
Must have a bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field and 7 years transportation experience and 10 years management experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff; must be highly organized and adept at prioritizing multiple tasks and projects in order to ensure they are successfully completed on time; must have demonstrated comprehension of agreements, policies, procedures, and regulations and their proper application; must have excellent attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, be customer service oriented, and be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be adept with computer applications including Microsoft Office suites. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in an office environment but travel to operating divisions and offsite locations is required
