Upcoming Public Hearings

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL - Pace will hold three public meetings to present and gather feedback on proposed plans related to the Pulse rapid transit program. On Thursday, July 12, Pace, in partnership with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), will host an open house for the Central Harlem Avenue Corridor Study. Harlem Avenue is one of Pace's seven near-term priority Pulse corridors, and the goal of the project is improve transit access and other improvements along the corridor to support future Pulse service. The open house is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Morton West High School at 2400 Home Avenue in Berwyn. Project team members and agency staff will be on hand to discuss the findings of the existing conditions assessment portion of the study.

The Central Harlem Avenue Corridor Study boundaries span from Bridgeview on the south end to Oak Park on the north end. Other communities along the corridor include Berwyn, Bedford Park, Chicago, Elmwood Park, Forest Park, Forest View, Lyons, North Riverside, Oak Park, River Forest, Riverside, Stickney and Summit. Additional public open house events will be held in the Fall of 2018 and will include preliminary recommendations from the study.

The following week, on July 16 and 18, public hearings will be held to share and solicit public feedback on proposed Pulse Milwaukee Line operating plans, which include improvements to the hours and frequency of service along the Milwaukee Avenue corridor, and proposed service reductions to Route 270 to better complement the new Pulse line and prevent duplicative service. Pulse is a rapid transit service proposed on Milwaukee Avenue which will provide fast, frequent, limited-stop express bus service between the Jefferson Park Transit Center in Chicago and Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles. Please note that no firm implementation date for these changes has been announced.

The Monday, July 16 public hearing will take place from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the City of Chicago Police Department - Jefferson Park located at 5151 North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. The Wednesday, July 18 public hearing will take place from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Niles - Maine District Library located at 6960 Oakton Street in Niles.
