Pace offers two Community Vehicle Programs, which both provide cost-effective transportation options for municipalities or local governments within the Pace service area.
Community Vehicle Programs
Pace's Community Vehicle Programs offer the flexibility to meet the mobility needs of the public or segments of the general public, such as senior citizens or people with disabilities. Local government participants maintain control over hours of operation, fares, and how the program is administered.
There are two Community Vehicle Program options--Locally-Based Service (LBS) and Municipal Vehicle Program (MVP)--which differ only in the type of vehicle used and maintenance responsibility. There is a monthly fee of $100.00 and a one-time security deposit of $500 for each program. In both programs, Pace offers an ADA-compliant vehicle and training for your driver and other relevant staff. The unit of government needs only to comply with a few basic requirements:
- Arrange and design the daily operation of service
- Designate a Transportation Coordinator and driver(s) who meet program requirements
- Provide commercial general and auto liability insurance
- Maintain workers’ compensation and umbrella liability insurance
- Keep Pace vehicle(s) locked, fueled, cleaned, and parked in a secure, off-street location
- Allow vehicle inspections and audits
See details below to find out which program might be the best fit for your community.
Locally-Based Service (LBS)
With the Locally-Based Service – Pace provides an accessible, paratransit-type vehicle with 12-passenger capacity. Municipality is responsible for routine maintenance, vehicle repairs, fuel costs, washing and detailing.
Municipal Vehicle Program
With the Municipal Vehicle Program, Pace provides an accessible van and covers the cost of maintenance and repair to the vehicle. Municipality is responsible for all fuel costs, washing and detailing.
See the agreements linked above for more details on these programs.
