Improved Passenger Facilities

Regional Transportation Centers
The Vision 2020 plan calls for 16 regional transportation centers and 150 smaller community transit centers. These locations will be the centerpiece of transit service in a given community and already exist in many places.

For instance, in Aurora, the Metra station is a hub for a large number of routes serving that city. From this center, people can use Pace’s community-based service to travel not only to the Metra station but also to all the other bus routes that serve Aurora. In addition, routes that travel longer distances will also stop at the Transportation Centers, allowing for transfers between the community-based service and the regional Express Routes.

This "hub and spoke" system will tremendously improve the ability of Pace riders to travel everywhere they need to go!

In addition, these stations will also have electronic information kiosks so passengers will know when the next bus is arriving and indoor waiting areas with convenience stores for passengers’ comfort.

Electronic signage
Electronic signage will let waiting passengers know when the next bus is coming.
