Routes 349 and 359 Detour Alert

Saturday, December 7, 2024 ONLY

Due to the closure of Western and Vermont in Blue Island for a holiday event, Route 349 (Southbound ONLY) and Route 359 buses will detour as follows, starting at 3:00 PM:

Route 349 (Southbound only):

Western – 127^th – Kedzie – 139^th – Western – resume regular route.

Route 359 (North and Southbound):

127th « Kedzie « 135th « resume regular route.

Route 349 southbound buses will not serve Western between 127^th and 139th during the detour. Route 349 northbound buses are not affected and will operate the normal routing. Route 359 buses will not operate onWood, Vermont, Francisco, or Claire between Wood/127^th and 135^th/Claire.

On the temporary route segments, bus stop signs will not be present. Riders can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along those segments. Regular service will resume when Western reopens, which is expected after about 8:00 PM.
