Bus Operator "Hire-on-the-Spot" Events

Get hired immediately for available bus operator positions at Pace's "Hire-on-the-Spot" events!

At these events, prospective employees will learn more about Pace, complete applications for open positions, and can take a pre-employment assessment for professional bus operator (driver) positions. As part of their ongoing efforts to remove financial barriers for the next generation of professional bus drivers, Pace provides FREE Class “B” commercial driver’s license (CDL) permit courses and paid training for bus operators and mechanics.

Upcoming bus operator "Hire on the Spot" dates are as follows: 

• Thursday, March 12, 2026, and every Thursday thereafter - Arlington Heights
  
  Candidates for positions at North, North Shore, Northwest, River, and West Divisions can come to Pace headquarters (550 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights) at either 9:00 am or 1:00 pm, with testing beginning promptly at 9:30 and 1:30. While there, one can apply for employment, get interviewed, and take a 90-minute Customer Service Assessment test. Attendees can get hired immediately and start work right away for positions at North, North Shore, Northwest, River, and West Divisions. It is encouraged that candidates complete an application online before the event and bring a copy of the confirmation with them.   Candidates for positions at Fox Valley, Heritage, South and Southwest Divisions can come to Pace Central Training & Customer Relations Facility (2107B W. 163rd Place, Markham) at either 9:00 am or 1:00 pm, with testing beginning promptly at 9:30 and 1:30. While there, one can apply for employment, get interviewed, and take a 90-minute Customer Service Assessment test. Attendees can get hired immediately and start work right away at Fox Valley, Heritage, South and Southwest Divisions. It is encouraged that candidates complete an application online before the event and bring a copy of the confirmation with them.   Candidates for positions at Pace's Elgin location can come to Pace River Division (975 S. State St, Elgin) at 10:00 am, with testing beginning promptly at 10:30am. While there, one can apply for employment, get interviewed, and take a 90-minute Customer Service Assessment test. Attendees can get hired immediately and start work right away. It is encouraged that candidates complete an application online before the event and bring a copy of the confirmation with them. • Wednesday, April 15, 2026 - Plainfield

  Candidates for positions at Pace's Plainfield location can come to Pace Heritage Division (14539 S Depot Dr. Plainfield, IL) at 10:00 am, with testing beginning promptly at 10:30am. While there, one can apply for employment, get interviewed, and take a 90-minute Customer Service Assessment test. Attendees can get hired immediately and start work right away. It is encouraged that candidates complete an application online before the event and bring a copy of the confirmation with them. At these locations, candidates can show up and be interviewed by division staff right on the spot!
