Objectives
As our region emerges from the pandemic, we recognize that travel patterns have changed, and Pace needs to adjust to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s society. We plan to modernize our service offerings to continue being a good steward of taxpayer resources while maximizing access to jobs, education, medical services, and other destinations.
Process and Timeline
The Pace team has spent months analyzing existing services, demographic and travel trends, and gathering public input. This work culminated in the release of three network concepts in late 2024, each offering a different vision for where and how often Pace routes should run, and what types of service are best suited for different parts of the region. These concepts highlighted key trade-offs - such as ridership versus coverage - and showed what could be possible with additional investment.
While we are evaluating the information we collected and developing the Draft Plan. You still have an opportunity to tell us what you think by sending us an email at revision@pacebus.com.
To date, the project team has:
- Analyzed existing transit services, and relevant demographic and travel patterns.
- Developed and presented future network concepts, to illustrate both key trade-offs (such as the ridership vs. coverage trade-off) and the opportunities that could be opened up with new funding.
- Conducted a survey, hosted open houses, and met with stakeholders to gauge opinions about the Network Concepts released in November 2024.
The next steps in the project are to:
- Create a Draft Plan for service improvements by incorporating the feedback gathered from the public and stakeholders on the proposed network concepts for release in mid-2025.
- Gather public and stakeholder feedback on the Draft Plan and incorporate the feedback to develop a Final Plan for 2026.
