Job Description:
Under the direction of the Safety & Training Manager or designee, assists in administration of and conducts safety and training programs for all personnel authorized to drive any company vehicle. Duties include:
- Conducting accident/incident investigations including reviewing and/or writing reports and preventability assessments of all accidents/incidents.
- Monitoring and scheduling DOT physical compliance.
- Monitoring drug and alcohol compliance, administration of training programs; monitoring bus operators' licenses.
- Conduct building safety inspections, conducting individual training and safety counseling.
- Conducting group training programs and safety meetings.
- Use Drive Cam and other on bus video systems including downloading of video, conducting facility security inspections.
- Monitoring worker's compensation claims, FMLA, and the disability programs; making schedules and completing pay vouchers.
- Acting as liaison with other agencies, requesting and maintaining information from various camera systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Age:
21+
Education:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Must have a minimum of three years' previous experience in public transportation or related experience as a supervisor/dispatcher and/or in safety and training, including a thorough knowledge of safety, training, investigation, and operations inclusive of standard operating procedures, defensive bus driving, and the General Rule Book.
Must have public relations expertise and a good work history, knowledge of the service area is preferred.
Certifications:
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with air brake and passenger endorsements and must obtain a DOT physical card.
Proficiencies:
Must be proficient with various computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with staff in a union environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Must have mathematical proficiency and be adept at making quick and accurate decisions; and must demonstrate the ability to supervise.
Working Conditions:
The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week.
Must be able to perform duties at multiple work locations.
Work is performed mainly in an office environment but work in a garage environment and travel to and work in a clinical healthcare environment and outside in all temperatures and weather conditions is also required.
This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Salary:
Starting salary range: $63,306 - $80,732
Full salary range: $63,306-133,008
Salary midpoint: $98,157
