Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Transportation or designee, assists in all aspects of the Transportation Section including but not limited to:
- vacation, holiday, and run picks; passenger services issues Intelligent Bus System and work schedules.
- inputting operators' work in the driver pay system; daily service, commendations, labor relations, and monitoring and enforcing Pace rules, policies, and procedures.
- Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews of Transportation Section employees
- Prepares documentation for issuance and handling of discipline, monitors absenteeism program, and prepares daily operation reports including payroll exception tickets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Age:
21+
Education:
Must possess a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma, an associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Must have a minimum of five years' experience in transit operations (or equivalent) with a working knowledge of safety, training, and customer relations (labor relations experience preferred) and have a good work history.
Certifications:
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Illinois driver's license (Commercial Driver's License, Class B with an air brake endorsement is preferred) with a good driving record; possess DOT certification.
Proficiencies:
Must possess strong transportation, planning, math, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills; and must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be adept at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, understanding of the Intelligent Bus System is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work is mainly performed in an office environment, however work in a garage environment and outside at the fueling station is also required.
Must be available to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. This is a safety sensitive position. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Starting salary range: $70,902 to $90,419.
Full salary range: $70,902-148,969
Salary midpoint: $109,936
