Job Description:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Chief Financial Officer directs, designs, manages, and oversees Pace's finance and accounting, budget, and grants responsibilities. Essential functions include:
- Directs and manages the decision, activities, initiatives, policies, procedures, and methodologies of the department;
- Selects, evaluates, and guides the Finance Department staff;
- Directs Federal and state grant processes
- Manages annual capital and operating budget processes;
- Directs the organization's banking and investment activities;
- Directs, reviews, and approves the organization's annual year-end financial audit;
- Serves as a Trustee on the RTA Pension Plan;
- Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB);
- Develops, updates, and implements administrative financial procedures;
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Must have eight to fifteen years of finance and accounting management experience.
Certifications:
Must be a licensed Certified Public Accountant
Proficiencies:
Must have intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must possess and demonstrate strong financial acumen; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal, leadership, and management skills; and strong analytical and planning skills.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and thorough. Must have demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and make sound decisions.
Must have excellent oral and written presentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type, attend virtual and in-person meetings.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with standard office equipment. Travel within Pace’s service area and to Springfield, Illinois may be required.
This position is not eligible for telecommuting or hybrid schedule.
Salary
Full salary range: $129,792-283,872
Salary midpoint: $206,832
Starting salary range: $168,312-206,832
