Job Description:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, Community Relations, or designee, the Community Relations Representative develops and maintains positive working relationships within an assigned territory. Essential functions include:
- Acting as a liaison for Pace with passengers (including acting as a Transit Ambassador), communities, businesses, local elected officials, and community organizations to market Pace services and convey information on Pace initiatives.
- Assessing and implementing local outreach for promotion of Pace-related programs and services within an assigned geographic territory.
- Handling special projects, as necessary, writing reports, attending meetings, and making presentations.
- Coordinating, arranging, and conducting public hearings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must have a bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, public administration, or related field.
Experience:
Must have a minimum two years of experience working in government affairs with a good work record, transit or government-related experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties described above.
Certifications:
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Proficiencies:
Must possess strong research skills and be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
Must be customer-service oriented, dependable, empathetic, and a good listener. Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent local travel within northeastern Illinois is required. Lifting and Transporting event materials and supplies is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in both an office environment as well as in the Community Relations Representative's assigned territory. The workday is 8 hours and can begin as early as 7:00am and end no later than 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in working early morning, evening, and weekend hours as determined by the Section Manager, Community Relations.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of a 6-month job introduction period.

Full salary range: $63,306-133,008
Midpoint: $98,157
Starting salary range: $63,306-80,732
