Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Transportation or designate, performs Paratransit Ride-N-Kane and OnDemand dispatch and supervisor duties. Dispatcher and Supervisor duties:
- All oversight and assignment/scheduling functions including scheduling of operators and vehicles;
- Handling passenger incidents;
- Maintaining appropriate dispatch paperwork;
- Answering telephones (including ADA calls) and responding to inquiries;
- Operating and monitoring radio;
- Notifying proper authorities of emergencies, detours, breakdowns, or other service interruptions;
- Coordinating and monitoring the performance of the Paratransit Ride-N-Kane and OnDemand routes utilizing Trapeze and OnDemand trip planner applications as well as other performance measurements;
- Generating and maintaining complete month end reports for NTD, Paratransit Ride-N-Kane and OnDemand services
- Act as liaison with Corporate Paratransit staff, and;
- assist with Revenue Services projects and other duties as assigned or required.
- This is a safety sensitive position. This position may be assigned to multiple locations.
Qualifications:
Age:
Must be 21 and over.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency
Experience:
Must have at least five (5) years' experience in transportation with a good work record, including attendance history. Supervisory experience is preferred Must have extensive knowledge of Paratransit Ride-N-Kane and OnDemand services and service areas.
Certifications/Licenses:
Must have or able to obtain a Class B Illinois Commercial Driver's License with airbrake and passenger endorsements within 6 months of being hired. Must be able to operate all Pace vehicles and equipment.
Must have or be able to obtain a DOT card within 6 months of being hired.
Proficiencies:
Must demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Trapeze, OnDemand trip planner applications and the bus operator's scheduling tablet Must have a set of hand tools and be able to work any hours of the day and all days of the week. Must possess and demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; good written and verbal communication skills; be able to maintain professional composure when confronted with difficult situations; make quick, accurate decisions; possess and demonstrate good math and algebra skills; and must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in a typical office setting, with standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and desk space, but the position may require occasional work outdoors in all weather conditions, and also requires operation of Pace vehicles under all weather conditions. This position may be assigned to multiple locations. Performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, and any day or night of the week. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or a hybrid work schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods, operate assigned equipment, and lifting objects up to 10 pounds

Salary:
Full salary range: $45,060-$90,164
Midpoint: $67,612
Starting salary range: $45,060-$56,336
