Job Description:
Under the direction of the Department Manager, Human Resources, the Employer Group Benefits Assistant will support the Sr. Benefits Administrator in the comprehensive administration of both union and non-bargained employee health benefits. This role includes enrolling eligible employees into their respective health benefit plans, such as health, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Dependent Care FSA, and COBRA benefits. The Benefits Assistant will also research and resolve participant benefit issues, enter, and monitor Universal Transmittal Forms using a third-party administrator employer portal, assist with the annual open enrollment and wellness health fair, and assist in vendor contract submissions. Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the administration of union and non-bargained employee health benefits.
- Enrolling eligible employees into health, dental, vision, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and COBRA benefits.
- Research and resolve participant benefit issues.
- Monitor and process monthly vendor payments using Oracle and ACH payment process requests.
- Enter and monitor Universal Transmittal Forms enrollment forms using a TPA employer portal.
- Assist with the annual open enrollment and wellness health fair.
- Provide support in the administration of all benefits programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee benefit files.
- Communicate effectively with employees regarding their benefits and any changes.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Benefits Administrator and other HR team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in evaluation of goods and services related to benefits.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field
Experience:
1-2 years of prior experience in administration of employer group benefits.
Essential Skills:
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Oracle is a plus. Must have strong customer service skills and be detail-oriented. Must have experience managing vendor relationships. Must have excellent organizational skills, and be an effective written and verbal communicator.
Work Environment:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule after a 6-month job introduction period.
Full salary range: $50,467-106,032
Salary midpoint: $78,250
Starting salary range: $64,359-78,250
