Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our Arlington Heights team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in HR practices and a commitment to enhancing our workplace culture. The HR Generalist is crucial in sourcing and securing talented individuals who will enhance Pace’s transportation services. Reporting to the Section Manager of Recruiting, the HR Generalist will have the following key responsibilities:
- Recruitment Management: Oversee the recruitment process, from posting job openings to managing applications, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews. Collaborate with department heads to address their hiring needs and attract top talent.
- Data Management: Maintain and update HR records and data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Interviewing and Selection: Conduct interviews and assist in the selection process, evaluating candidates’ qualifications and cultural fit.
- Organizational Development: Support initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and productivity, including training and policy development.
- Hiring Events: Plan and execute hiring events at our headquarters and local community colleges to connect with potential candidates.
- Unemployment Claims: Manage and process unemployment claims, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is required.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in the human resources experience; recruitment and employee relations experience are pluses.
Certifications:
Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. SHRM certification is a plus.
Proficiencies:
Must be proficient using computers including Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience using Oracle is preferred. Must have good management skills and good written and oral communication skills are required. Must demonstrate strong research, problem solving, prioritization skills and be a self-starter.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type on a computer, and travel to meetings.
Working Environment:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays.
This position is eligible for hybrid schedule after a 6-month job introduction period.
Starting salary range: $56,523-72,082
Full salary range: $56,523-118,757
Salary midpoint: $87,640
