Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections and general repairs on all Pace vehicles and equipment; performing vehicle diesel and gasoline engine and transmission diagnostics; performing vehicle exchanges and on street repairs; accurately completing work orders and preventative maintenance forms; accounting for all materials used in accordance with Pace Oracle Enterprise Asset Management systems; and performing other duties as assigned. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week. This is a Safety Sensitive position.
NOTE: This is a bargained for position (Union) and is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must: be at least 21 years of age; have or be able to obtain a valid Class "B" CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with air brake and passenger endorsement and be able to operate all Pace vehicles and equipment; have a minimum of one year previous experience in diesel, gasoline and CNG vehicles repair and/or relevant technical school training; understand air, electrical, and hydraulic schematics; own or be willing to purchase hand tools required to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of Pace vehicles and equipment; attend and successfully complete Pace's Mechanic Training Program, including 608 EPA certification; be capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet; and have a good work history.
