Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Administrative Specialist, the Receptionist Customer Assistance Facilitator acts as the front face of Chicago Paratransit's office. Office communications, front desk reception, and office administration are the three responsibility categories of this position. Being the primary contact for external office communication, the position must operate the switchboard by redirecting calls, following up on messages and aiding with general inquiries. As the front desk receptionist this position assists all internal or external customers with a kind demeanor. Furthermore, they keep track of the guests by keeping a log and ensure the security of the lobby. The role also handles office administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, office supplies management, and clerical duties. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must have a high school diploma (or equivalent). Having an associate degree (or higher) is preferred, but not required. The candidate must also have 2 years experience in a receptionist, customer service, or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and verbal/written communication is required. Prior experience in Trapeze and switchboard operation is required. Candidates who are Bi-lingual in either Spanish or Polish are preferred. A qualified candidate must be willing and able to maintain a friendly demeanor when working with the public. This is a full-time salary exempt position that works on a core schedule.
