Job Description:
Under the direction of the Department Manager, Bus Operations, the Section Manager, Operating Services supervises the Bus Monitor program, oversees the operation and maintenance of Pace Passenger Facilities and Sign and Shelter program, and oversees the operation of Pace Fixed Route Contract and Municipal Carriers. Essential functions in include:
- Coordinating and administering various centralized support programs, such as medical services, fare collection and media, uniforms, and ADA concerns.
- Reviewing customer complaints, monitoring reports, on time performance, and identifying problems in service and proposing solutions to improve service quality.
- Preparing section's annual operating and capital budgets. Drafting, reviewing, and analyzing contract documents and reports.
- Assisting with the day-to-day tasks of the Bus Operations Department, including coordination of emergency bus service requests.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Public Administration.
Experience:
Must have five to eight years of transportation management experience or education equivalent.
Certifications:
Must possess a valid Class D Driver’s license.
Proficiencies:
Must exhibit independent judgment, attention to detail, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Experience with Oracle and TransitMaster applications preferred.
Must have good management skills and good written and oral communication skills are also required. Must demonstrate strong research, problem solving, prioritization skills and be a self-starter.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting, but the position may require work at Pace operating divisions or in the field. Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to respond to operational emergencies. This is a safety sensitive position. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work schedule.
Starting salary range: $95,734-117,924
Full salary range: $73,543-162,305
Salary midpoint: $117,924
