Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, is responsible for daily servicing of Pace vehicles including: fueling and cleaning; accurately recording fuel and fluid information; operating wash rack, floor scrubber, and fare box vaulting system; parking and spotting of vehicles; installing, maintaining and removing passenger notices, bulletins, advertising, and postings on Pace vehicles; routine cleaning of building, grounds, and equipment; reporting defects; completing all required documents and reports for work performed; and performing other duties as assigned. May perform duties at either Elgin or East Dundee Garages as needed. This is a safety sensitive position.
NOTE: This is a bargained for position (Union) and is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must be at least 18 years of age; possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements; be able to operate all Pace equipment; be capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet; and have a good work history. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week.
