Job Description:
Pace is hiring a summer intern to assist in its Community Relations Department. The Community Relations Intern will assist the team in promoting Pace’s services to the public and preparing outreach plans. They will also help organize the outreach materials and contact databases. Job duties will include:
- Assist section manager with various duties, including organizing & updating contact databases.
- Work various events: Kids fests, senior fairs, summer vanpool, job fairs, etc.
- Assist CR Team by putting supplies together for upcoming events and putting away after.
- Prepare ideas for how to promote Pace's services: Vanpool, RAP, fixed routes and more.
- Attend meetings with Community Relations Representatives as needed
- Create and maintain an organizational system for department outreach supplies.
The intern will learn how to work in a team environment while developing customer service skills. They will also learn time management and organizational skills. The position is working with the Community Relations team and will have some interaction with Pace customers and potential users, while also learning about working in the public sector.

Qualifications:
Age:
18+.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency and be enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year college.
Certifications:
Must have a driver’s license with a good driving record.
Proficiencies:
The candidate must be proficient in MS Office Suite products
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, drive within Pace’s service area, type, file documents, and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
Work Location:
The primary work location is Pace Headquarters, 550 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, IL
Hours:
Up to 20 hours per week.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Salary:
$19/hr.
