Job Description:
Under the direction of the General Counsel, the summer legal intern will assist the Pace Legal Department with litigation and conduct legal research under the supervision of a Pace attorney. The summer legal intern will learn practical aspects of litigation in the area of transit law, improve their legal research, writing and analysis skills, and hone their litigation skills.

Qualifications:
Age:
18+.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Must have completed first or second year of law school.
Certifications:
Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 license preferred.
Proficiencies:
Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications and Adobe Acrobat.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type, and travel throughout the Pace service area and to courthouses in the Metropolitan Chicago region.
Work Location:
Pace Headquarters, 550 W. Algonquin Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Salary:
$23/hr.
