Job description:
Pace is seeking four (4) temporary part-time NTD assistants. The assistants will report to the Section Manager, Service Analysis, and assist Pace staff to ensure compliance with National Transit Database (NTD) requirements which allows Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding to be secured. Essential functions include:
- Travelling on buses to manually count boarding and alighting activity on selected runs to compare with APC results.
- Reviewing data collected to ensure accuracy and compliance with NTD requirements.
- Writing summaries of data collection activities.
Term of Temporary Part-Time Position:
April 15, 2025- October 15, 2025
Up to 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
Age:
18+.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Certifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Proficiencies:
Must have an interest in data and data collection. Individuals hired for this position must be familiar with the Chicago region, be proficient in all Microsoft Office products, and have familiarity with using an Android tablet. Candidate must have a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong data and computer skills, and be able to work well individually and with others.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit on buses for extended periods of time, enter data on a tablet, type on a computer.
Work Location:
The primary work location is Pace Headquarters, located at 550 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois; although most work is performed on buses throughout Pace’s service area.
Working Conditions:
This position involves frequent riding of Pace fixed route buses throughout its service area. The workday is typically 8 hours but may require longer or shorter workdays as needed as well as work on weekends or during the early morning and evening periods. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.

$20/hour
