ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Pace joins the nation in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day) and honors his legacy of peace. As a public agency deeply rooted in service, Pace answers the call to serve every day by providing access to transportation and opportunity for the communities we serve.
To commemorate MLK Day of Service, Pace asked employees to have children in their family share drawings of what service means to them. These children, who are related to our front-line employees continuing to serve the public while navigating a global pandemic, came through, and those drawings are now posted on buses throughout the region. The young artists shared messages of kindness and equality with images of volunteers donating, tending gardens, cleaning up their community, and helping others. We urge you to view these uplifting messages below.
Dr. King’s work to advance equality, justice and civil rights in America moved our nation towards a more just and equitable society. Pace is committed to these same principles. Recognizing that Northeastern Illinois has more work to do to realize Dr. King’s dream, we are excited to work with partners across the region to ensure everyone has access to food, healthcare, family, and work, and to serve the people of our region no matter who they are. Pace, an equal opportunity employer, plans to continue to focus on recruiting from a diverse talent pool and make service and infrastructure improvements in all areas of our region.
Please thank our operators, who are truly heroes moving heroes, for their work serving the people of Illinois by wearing a mask on Pace buses.
