Improved Dial-a-Ride Service in McHenry County

McHenry County DOT and Pace are launching improved dial-a-ride services in McHenry County in 2021.

The dial-a-ride services, previously provided in select municipalities and townships across the County, will—as of January 1, 2021--now be offered countywide. The newly unified service, called MCRide, incorporates several of the previously separate dial-a-ride programs. The service also has expanded hours of operation, now available from  6 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, with no changes to the fare structure.

The new MCRide service area map is shown below. Everyone can get a ride to and from anywhere within the green area OR from one of the seven destinations just outside the county boundaries.

For more information, please visit McHenry County's MCRide Dial-A-Ride or a view the MCRide brochure.

Intergovernmental Partnership

The improved MCRide dial-a-ride service is brought to you through an intergovernmental agreement between Pace, McHenry County, the municipalities of Crystal Lake, Harvard, Marengo, McHenry, Woodstock, Huntley, Johnsburg, Ringwood and the Townships of Dorr, Grafton, Greenwood, Marengo, McHenry, Nunda, and Riley.
