ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Pace will hold a series of six public hearings to solicit public input on proposed fare changes to the agency’s Vanpool fare structure and an expansion of the Naperville-Aurora On Demand service. The hearings, five of which will be virtual, will take place March 20-23, 2023.
As part of a pilot project that began on May 1, 2022, Pace introduced flexible, part-time Vanpool fares to accommodate hybrid work schedules and reduced work weeks. Part-time fares are available for riders participating in a Vanpool three or less days per week. As the pilot period is coming to an end, Pace is proposing to make part-time Vanpool fares permanent.
As part of a pilot project that began on June 6, 2022, the Naperville-Aurora On Demand service zone was expanded and an additional in-service vehicle was added to accommodate the larger service area. Since the expansion was implemented, ridership has increased, and the performance of the service has met expectations. As the pilot period is coming to an end, Pace is proposing to make the Naperville-Aurora On Demand service changes permanent.
Any person wishing to comment on these proposed changes may do so by attending a public hearing, or by submitting comments at Pace’s website (https://www.pacebus.com/public-hearing-feedback), by telephone to 847-354-7943, or by mail to: Pace, Community Relations Department, 550 W. Algonquin Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005-4412. All comments must be received by 5:00 pm on March 24, 2023.
