Route 561 Detour Alert
Effective Monday, September 16, 2024
Due to a road closure at the intersection of Genesee and Julian in Waukegan, Route 561 buses will operate on the following detour:
Route 561 Northbound Detour
Sheridan → Franklin → Resume regular routing
Route 561 Southbound Detour
Franklin → Sheridan → Resume regular routing
During this detour, Route 561 buses will not serve Grand between Sheridan and Genesee, and Genesee between Grand and Franklin.
Buses will detour until the intersection reopens, which is expected to be Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Please note that posted bus stops are not present along this route. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the route where it is safe to do so. Please allow additional travel time during this period.
