Routes 209 and 423 Temporary Terminal Change and Detour Alert

Effective Monday, February 19, 2024

Due to the closure of the Harlem Blue Line (O’Hare) CTA Station in Chicago for reconstruction, both routes will have a temporary change to the southern terminal and Route 209 will detour as follows:

Route 209
Canfield Avenue ↔ Higgins Road ↔ Cumberland Avenue ↔ CumberlandBlue Line CTA Station  

During this detour, buses in both directions will not serve Higgins Road east of Canfield Avenue, Oriole Avenue, or the Harlem Blue Line (O’Hare) CTA Station. Posted bus stop signs will not be present on the detour routing except at the Cumberland Blue Line CTA Station, however passengers may get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along the detour routing.

Route 423
Southbound trips will end on Harlem Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue (NW corner) and northbound trips will begin on Harlem Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue (NE corner). Buses will not serve the Harlem Blue Line (O’Hare) Station.

Construction is expected to be in effect until late Spring, 2025. Please allow extra travel time during this project.
