Routes 541, 542, 543, 554 and 603 Detour Alert

Effective Monday, January 12, 2026
 

Due to additional construction on Highland Avenue between Center Street and North Spring Street in Elgin, all inbound Route 541 trips, inbound Route 542 “V” trips, southbound Route 543 trips, and westbound Route 554 and Route 603 trips will detour from 8:00 AM Monday, to 3:00 PM Tuesday, as follows:

Route 541 (Inbound ONLY)

• Park→Dundee→Kimball→Spring→Highland→regularroute 
 

Route 542 “V” Trips (Inbound ONLY)

• Villa→National→Grove→Spring→Highland→regularroute 
 

Route 543 (Southbound ONLY)

• Dundee→Kimball→Spring→Highland→regularroute 
 

Route 554 (Westbound ONLY)

• Chicago→Center/Dundee→Kimball→Spring→Highland→regularroute 
 

Route 603 (Westbound ONLY)

• Dundee→Kimball→Spring→Highland→regularroute
 

Buses will resume regular service in this area when construction is complete. Please allow additional travel time.
