Job Description:
Under the direction of the Division Manager, Chicago ADA Services, or designee, the Data Manager is responsible for supervising Data Management staff and managing all data and mapping responsibilities pertaining to the Pace Paratransit Division including but not limited to the Taxi Access Program, (TAP). Rideshare Access Program (RAP), ADA paratransit services, local Coordinated "Ride" projects, local Dial-A Ride programs, and On Demand services. This includes the development and employment of multiple reports/database queries and collaborating with IT in the use and development of software programs used to manage demand response services including execution of program upgrades and advanced technologies for service delivery and management. Essential functions include:
- Performing job functions proficiently using various computer software programs utilized by Pace, this includes MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sequel (SQL) coding, APEX database, Trapeze, PLAN, Viewpoint, ArcMap, Oracle, and other programs.
- Providing support and troubleshooting IT/Trapeze related issues.
- Assisting in Division's software evaluation and implementation process.
- Overseeing the development of service maps, Crystal Reports advanced reporting functions, queries from Trapeze data tables and Apex database, and processes for generating output of data for all services managed by the Paratransit Division.
- Monitoring Trapeze databases to ensure that all components of data are current and reconciled to assure the integrity of the data.
- Overseeing and providing direction to Data Management staff in compliance with Pace policies and procedures.
- Contributing to ensuring compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Pace human resource policies.
- Providing support in the day-to-day operations of Pace Paratransit services including unexpected or planned occurrences and events.
- Overseeing compilation of data for audits by agencies such as the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and FTA National Transit Database (NTD) and preparation of all data required in the appropriate or required format for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for procurement of services.
- Developing annual and multi-year forecasting for service planning and budget development. Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual division statical reports including narratives and input with recommendations to upper management.
- Representing Pace at internal and external meetings employing proficient presentation skills and demonstrating effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Performing other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, business administration, transportation and logistics, or equivalent.
Experience :
Five years' experience in data warehouse analysis, database management and data mining with good work history.
Certifications:
Valid state of Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana driver’s license.
Proficiencies:
Must be basic proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point applications, including experience with Macros and Pivot Tables.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and customer service skills. Must possess analytical, critical thinking and math skills.
Must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner. Proficiency in data tools such as Adobe, SQL Queries and Crystal Reports, Oracle, Apex and Arc GIS/ArcMap is required.
Physical Requirements:
This role is in an office environment and is required to travel to Pace project sites within the six-county RTA region and as need be able to travel outside of the RTA region.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit at a desk and type for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The workday is 8 hours and can begin as early as 7:00am and end no later than 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays.
This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
This position is not eligible for hybrid schedule or telecommuting.
Starting salary range: $73,543-114,059
Full salary range: $73,543-154,576
Salary midpoint: $114,059
Pace provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
