Job Description:
Under the direction of the Regional Manager or designee, the Division Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of all day-to-day operations, administration, transportation, safety, training, and maintenance sections of the Division.
Essential Functions Include:
1.Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Pace rules, policies, procedures, and FTA and DOT regulations;
2. Directing labor relations matters, contract negotiations, contract implementation, grievances, and other union matters;
3. Managing personnel matters including oversight of hiring matters and staffing up to authorized levels;
4. Performing monthly and annual budget analysis and reporting and operating within budget;
5. Approving and overseeing Division petty cash, expenses, payroll, appraisals, purchasing, and initiating and conducting investigations when warranted;
6. Establishing Division goals and working with staff to achieve them;
7. Overseeing the safety and security of the facility, employees, and passengers; and
8. Performing other duties as assigned or required.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate is required; a college degree in a transit-related field or business is preferred.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of ten years' experience in a public transit supervision and operation management including labor relations, discipline of employees, complaint investigation and resolution, and incident/accident investigation
Certifications/Licenses:
Must have or be able to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements within 6 months of being hired.
Must have or be able to obtain DOT certification within 6 months of being hired.
Proficiencies:
Must have extensive knowledge of public transportation (familiarity with Pace Operations, Safety/Training and Maintenance procedures is a plus) and a good work history. Must demonstrate proficiency using computers with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint and Oracle preferred. Must have basic math skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and the performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and desk space, but the manager is also exposed to loud noises and strong odors from a bus garage environment.
This position is not eligible for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of a 6-month job introduction period.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires sitting for extended periods, typing on a computer, and attending meetings. Minimal lifting or physical activity is required.
Salary:
Full salary range: $84,574-177,762
Midpoint: $131,168
Starting salary range: $107,871-131,168
Pace provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
