Job Description:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designate, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections, diagnosing, troubleshooting and performing general repairs on all company vehicles and equipment; removing and replacing all units and rebuilding small components; making service calls; creating work orders and assigning work using Oracle; running reports; completing all required documents and accounting for all materials used in accordance with the work order system; performing shift responsible duties as needed; and performing other duties as assigned or required. The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day and night, any day and night of the week. This is a safety sensitive position.
NOTE: This is a bargained for position (Union) and is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must be 21 years of age; possess at least three (3) years previous diesel/gas experience and/or technical training; have, or be able to obtain, a valid "A" Commercial Driver's license and Air Conditioning Certification; successfully pass examination for the position; have a complete set of hand tools sufficient for performing the duties of the position; be able to work independently; be able to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals; be able to operate test equipment; have knowledge of the service area; be able to operate all company equipment; must be capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet; and have a good work history.
