Job Description:
Under the direction of the Division Manager, the Safety and Training Manager II Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day safety, security, and training activities for the divisions for the purpose of minimizing risk to employees, passengers, and property and performing other duties as assigned or directed. Essential Functions include:
- Conducts new driver training on Pace Standard Operating Procedures.
- Investigates all accidents and incidents and assesses preventability and retrains employees following preventable accidents.
- Provides guidance and instruction to employees regarding rules, policies, and procedures.
- Monitors FTA drug and alcohol testing and physicals.
- Monitors short term disability, workers compensation and FMLA and maintains appropriate paperwork.
- Conducts monthly facility safety, cleanliness and security checks and conducts quarterly training of employees.

High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Must have a good work history with a minimum of three years’ experience in transportation or related experience, including a thorough knowledge of safety, training, and operations, including standard operating procedures and defensive bus driving, experience in accident investigation is preferred and knowledge of the service area is preferred.
Certifications:
A valid Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake and passenger endorsements, no preventable accidents in the 24 months preceding the bid application up until the date of hire; must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver’s License. A DOT card is also required.
Proficiencies:
Must have demonstrated computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Suite programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; problem solving skills; public relations expertise; mathematical proficiency; and quick, accurate decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type, travel to facilities and must occasionally operate Pace non-revenue and revenue vehicles within Pace’s service area.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment but may also require occasional work inside a bus operations garage environment with exposure to loud noises and fumes. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Starting salary range: $88,645.50-106,389
Full salary range: $70,902-141,875
Salary midpoint: $106,389
Pace provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
