Job Description:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, IT Project Delivery, the Senior Business Systems Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to internal departments. Works with the staff of internal departments to gain in-depth understanding of the business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and context in which the internal department operates. Reviews assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risk, as well as to identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Conducts requirement gathering workshops and develops business requirements, use cases, and "to be" business processes and then use that information to set up, configure, personalize, and support various commercial off-the-shelf and custom applications. Supports, troubleshoots and helps upgrade commercial off-the-shelf and custom applications and performs the testing required to ensure the applications are operating correctly. Identifies operating inefficiencies and fragmented systems and data, and provides enterprise improvement solutions, including 3rd party software solutions that integrate with Pace's other enterprise applications. Engages and oversees technical resources to complete any custom coding work and assesses the system before it is turned over to the business for acceptance testing. Develops project plans and documents all project artifacts including reports, requirements, business processes, technical specifications, and test cases. Develops or changes reports using Pace's BI systems. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies. Performs other duties as required. The work week
typically exceeds 37.5 hours, and the position is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Occasional in region travel to Pace operating divisions and occasional out of region travel to meetings and conferences is required.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Business or computer science or equivalent experience. Must have a Business Analysis Professional certification or similar certification is preferred. Must have a minimum of five years (5) previous experience as a functional or technical analyst supporting enterprise commercial software working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Must be technically competent with various software programs including Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams. Strong familiarity with project management software including Microsoft Project and ServiceNow PPM is required. Must be familiar with programming and markup languages, including SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and CSS. Database experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server is required. Competent and proficient understanding of software platforms, such as Microsoft 365, Oracle Cloud, and ServiceNow is required. Must be adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Must be customer service oriented, demonstrating initiative, dependability, and the ability to work with little supervision. Must have strong written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, and be able to relate to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines and adapt quickly and efficiently to shifting priorities to bring projects to a successful and timely completion. Must be able to handle confidential matters with professionalism, maintaining confidentiality. Work is performed in an office environment. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
