Job Description:
Under the direction of the Department Manager, Service Planning and Scheduling, the Supervisor of Scheduling:
1.Supervises the activities of the Scheduling team including consultants and interns, and assists in the evaluation, training, and mentoring of staff.
2. Prepares, reviews, proofs. analyzes, and distributes various scheduling work products and ensures that assigned work products and those developed by the Scheduling team are accurate, on-time, and produced in a high-quality manner.
3. Using HASTUS scheduling software, develops efficient schedules, run-cuts, blocking, and rosters, creates driver and vehicle assignments for multiple garages and service days, and conducts rule calibration, run time analysis, route data definition, and other advanced scheduling work.
4. Assists in the assessment of scheduling inquires, requests, and proposals, evaluates problems, performs analysis, and finds solutions for various scheduling related tasks and projects, and develops experimental and ad hoc schedules, run-cutting, and blocking for planning, management, and for cost estimates.
5. Has oversight of the HASTUS scheduling software and contract, creates and maintains interfaces for exchanging data between HASTUS and the Intelligent Bus System (IBS), the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) and other software applications.
6. Coordinates Scheduling work activities with other Pace departments, meets with garage or contractor staff on scheduling issues, responds to inquiries about the scheduling of routes and services, and occasionally conducts field work to verify and assess service and scheduling information.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, transportation planning, mathematics, statistics, computer logic, engineering, accounting or other related field.
Experience (how many years, what specific experience):
Five years of progressively responsible scheduling experience with a good work record. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position will be considered.
Certifications:
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Proficiencies:
Three years of experience in the use of HASTUS scheduling software (5 years of experience in the use HASTUS is preferred).
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
Knowledge of the Intelligent Bus System (IBS), the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS), ArcMap/GIS, Tableau, and Ridecheck is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; excellent math, logic, and computer skills; outstanding time and project management skills; be detail oriented; and be able to produce accurate work and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type, travel to facilities and locations within Pace’s service area and be able to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7:00am and end no later than 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting.
Starting salary range: $70,902-106,389
Full salary range: $70,902-141,875
Salary midpoint: $106,389
Pace provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
