New bus rapid transit line between Evanston and O’Hare; Changes to Route 250 proposed
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Pace Suburban Bus will hold virtual public hearings on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 5:00 PM and Friday, July 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM to address two proposed service changes related to the Pulse Dempster Line. Pace recommends the implementation of new rapid transit bus service along Dempster Street with the launch of the Pulse Dempster Line and reduced frequency for the complementary local route, Route 250 – Dempster Street.
To provide live comments during a virtual public hearing, pre-register for a hearing at PaceBus.com/public-meetings. To view the hearing without making live comments, visit PaceBus.com/streaming at the applicable time.
The Pulse Dempster Line is a proposed rapid transit bus service that would offer faster, more frequent, limited-stop service primarily along Dempster Street between the Davis Street CTA Station in Evanston and O'Hare International Airport. These improved service levels would allow a reduction in service on Pace Route 250, which provides local service along the same corridor.
“Throughout the project, outreach and coordination with communities, businesses, public agencies, interest groups, and the public has helped Pace gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback into the service’s design,” said Pace executive Director Melinda Metzger. In addition to the public hearings, Pace welcomes comments about the Pulse Dempster Line and Route 250 through Pace’s website at PaceBus.com, by email to public.hearings@pacebus.com, by telephone at 847-354-7943, and by mail to: Pace, Community Relations Department, 550 W. Algonquin Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005-4412. All comments must be received by 6:00 pm on Friday, July 15, 2022.
Closed captioning of the hearing will be available. Individuals with disabilities who wish to view a public hearing virtually and who require accommodations other than transportation, and individuals who require translation into a language other than English to allow them to view and/or participate are requested to contact Pace at (847) 364-7223 option 3, no less than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled hearing.
