New Detour

Effective Friday, September 25, 2026 at 8PM

Due to road construction on Touhy Ave., between Elmhurst Rd. and Mt. Prospect Rd. Route 223 buses will use the following detour beginning on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 8PM:

Route 223 Westbound Detour (E Trips)

Touhy Avenue → Mount Prospect Road → Oakton Street → Elmhurst Road → resume regular route

Route 223 Westbound Detour (W Trips)

Touhy Avenue → Mount Prospect Road → Oakton Street → resume regular route

Route 223 Eastbound Detour (E & W Trips)

Higgins Avenue → Elmhurst Road → Oakton Street → Mount Prospect Road → Touhy Avenue → resume regular route

Buses will detour until work is complete and Touhy Avenue is reopened to traffic, which is expected to occur by Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 5:00AM. Please allow extra travel time during this detour.
