Route 505 Detour Alert

Starts Friday, June 12, 2026

Due to construction, the Jackson Street bridge in Joliet will be closed to eastbound traffic. As a result, Route 505 clockwise (inbound) will detour until construction is complete, expected in July 2026.

Route 505 Clockwise (inbound) Detour:

Broadway – Division – Hickory – Western – Center – Jefferson – Ottawa

During the detour, Route 505 Clockwise will not operate on Jackson St. or Ottawa St. north of Jefferson St. Route 505 Counterclockwise (outbound) will not be affected.

Along the detour route, the bus will stop upon signal to driver at any intersection along the route where it is safe to do so.
