Route 541 Detour Alert

New Detour

Effective Friday, July 3, 2026, ONLY

Due to the Elgin Fourth of July Parade and Celebration, Route 541

Outbound will detour as follows on Friday, July 3, 2026 ONLY:

Chicago → Spring → Slade (regular route)

During this detour, outbound buses will not serve the Gail Borden Library, Douglas between Chicago and Slade, and Ann and Kimball between Grove and Douglas.

Inbound buses are not affected by the event and will operate the regular route.

Please note that posted bus stop signs will not be present along the detour routing. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour where it is safe to do so.
