Route 546 Detour Alert

Effective Tuesday, July 21, 2026,

Due to construction on Walnut between Wilcox and Vandalia in Elgin, all inbound Route 546 trips will detour as follows:

Walnut → Wilcox → Kate → Vandalia → Walnut (regular route)

During this detour, inbound buses will not serve Walnut between Wilcox and Vandalia.

Outbound buses are not affected by the event and will operate the regular route.

Please note that posted bus stop signs will not be present along the detour routing. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour where it is safe to do so.

Buses will resume regular route upon the completion of construction, anticipated Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Please allow additional travel time during the detour.
