Routes 209 and 423 Detour Update

Effective Monday, March 30, 2026

Route 423 will resume service within the Harlem Blue Line (O’Hare) CTA Station in Chicago beginning on Monday, March 30, 2026.

The temporary southbound stop on Harlem Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue (NW corner) will no longer be served by Route 423. The temporary northbound stop on Harlem Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue (NE corner) will continue to be served by Route 423.  

Route 209 will continue to detour as follows:

Canfield Avenue ↔ Higgins Road ↔ Cumberland Avenue ↔ Cumberland Blue Line CTA Station  

During this detour, Route 209 buses in both directions will not serve Higgins Road east of Canfield Avenue, Oriole Avenue, or the Harlem Blue Line (O’Hare) CTA Station. Posted bus stop signs will not be present on the detour routing except at the Cumberland Blue Line CTA Station, however passengers may get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along the detour routing.
