Routes 348 and 359 Detour Alert

Due to railroad crossing repairs on the Metra Rock Island line at Vermont Street in Blue Island, Routes 348 and 359 will detour as follows:
 

Route 348 Detour: 

Vermont ↔ Wood ↔ 127th ↔ Western ↔ Gregory ↔ 127th ↔ Wood ↔ Vermont (regular route).

Route 359 Detour: 

127th ↔ Maple ↔ Vermont (regular route).
 

During this detour, Route 348 will not serve Vermont west of Wood, and Route 359 will not serve Vermont east of Maple or Wood south of 127th.
 

On the temporary route segments, bus stop signs will not be present. Riders can get on or off the bus at any safe intersection along those segments.
 

Regular service is expected to resume on or around August 23, 2026, but weather may impact the duration of repair work.
