Routes 349 and 359 Detour Alert

Effective Saturday, July 4, 2026 ONLY

Due to the closure of Western and Vermont in Blue Island for a holiday event, Route 349 (Southbound ONLY) and Route 359 buses will detour as follows, starting at 10:00 AM:

Route 349 (Southbound only):

Western – 127th – Kedzie – 139th – Western – resume regular route.

Route 359 (North and Southbound):

127th « Kedzie « 135th « resume regular route.

Route 349 southbound buses will not serve Western between 127^th and 139^th during the detour. Route 349 northbound buses are not affected and will operate the normal routing. Route 359 buses will not operate on Wood, Vermont, Francisco, or Claire between Wood/127^th and 135^th/Claire.

Posted bus stop signs will not be present on the detour routing; passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour where it is safe to do so. Regular service will resume when Western reopens, which is expected after about 2:00 PM.
