Routes 541 and 542 Detour Alert

Effective Saturday, September 12, 2026, ONLY 

Due to an event in Elgin, Routes 541 and 542 will operate on the following 
detours:

Route 541 Outbound Detour (between 8:30am-11:30am)
Chicago → Spring → Lincoln → Prospect → Resume regular routing

Route 541 Inbound Detour (between 8:30am-11:30am)
Center → Highland → Elgin Terminal

Route 542 Outbound Detour (beginning at 12:30pm-end of service)
Chicago → Villa → National → Raymond → Resume regular routing

Route 542 Inbound Detour (beginning at 12:30pm-end of service)
Villa → DuPage → Spring → Highland → Elgin Terminal
 

Please note that posted bus stop signs will not be present along the detour routing. Passengers may get on or off the bus at any intersection along the detour routing where it is safe to do so. Please allow additional travel time while this detour is in effect.
