Rts 541, 542, 543, 554 and 603 Detour Alert

Effective Saturday, June 6, 2026 ONLY

Due to the Elgin Pride event in downtown Elgin, Routes 541, 542, 543, 554 and 603 will detour as follows between 9:00am and 7:00pm:

Route 541 (Outbound ONLY)

• Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → IL 31 (State) → Kimball → Grove → regular route

• Buses will not serve Chicago, Douglas south of Kimball, and Kimball between Douglas and Grove

Route 542

• National → IL 31 (State) → Chicago → Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → IL 31 (State) → National → regular route

• Buses will not serve S Grove and Spring south of Chicago, or Highland and Chicago east of the Elgin TC

Route 543 (Northbound ONLY) & Route 603 (Eastbound ONLY)

• Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → IL 31 (State) → Kimball → Dundee → regular route

• Buses will not serve Chicago from Center to the Elgin TC, or Dundee and Center south of Kimball

Route 554 (Eastbound ONLY)

• Elgin TC (Terminal) → Highland → IL 31 (State) → Kimball → Dundee → Center → Chicago → regular route

• Buses will not serve Chicago west of Center
