Fixed bus routes serve more than 210 municipalities and carry millions of riders per month. On these most traditional of public transit services, Pace conveniently carries commuters throughout the region using a set schedule and routing. This service is open to the public, and you can find out where and when to board the bus by using the published schedule. Buses have priority seating and hydraulic kneel to ensure a safe rider experience for seniors and people with disabilities. Nearly every bus has a bike rack which can hold two bikes. On Demand
Pace On Demand is a reservation-based, curb-to-cub service open to the general public. Each of the 11 On Demand services operate in a designated geographic zone. Rides can be booked by phone or online.

Expressway-Based Service
Pace offers express bus service on several northeastern Illinois highways and, thanks to a change in State law in 2011, get advantages over automobiles by bypassing traffic on the shoulder or in a "flex lane". Most boarding locations are at free park-n-rides. Pace also offers express routes to popular destinations, such as Six Flags and sports stadiums. See the destinations and more details on fares.
Pulse
Pulse is Pace's rapid transit service, which debuted in 2019. Pulse is an enhanced express bus service using the latest technology and streamlined route design. It provides fast, frequent and reliable bus service in heavily traveled corridors of suburban Chicagoland. Pulse rapid transit service differs from regular fixed route bus service with its limited-stop service, easy-to-find stations with weather protection, bus tracker signs at every station, and vehicles equipped with Wi-Fi and other technological advancements. Vanpool programs
Pace's "traditional" program provides passenger vans to small groups of 4-15 people traveling together to and from work. Each rider pays a low monthly fare based on distance and number of participants. Fares cover all costs of the vanpool. Vanpool is an excellent transit solution in areas where population density cannot support fixed route bus service.

Dial-a-Ride services
Usually in partnership with units of local government, Pace's Dial-a-Ride programs provide pre-arranged curb-to-curb trips. Each of Pace's partners determine their own fare, geographic boundaries, and which residents are eligible for the service.

ADA Paratransit
ADA Paratransit is a reservation-based service providing origin-to-destination trips for persons with disabilities whose eligibility has been certified by RTA. ADA paratransit services operate in Chicago and all suburban areas that are within 3/4 mile of Pace's regular fixed routes, during the same hours of operation as those fixed routes.
