Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Vanpool Services, the Vanpool Program Intern aids the department in its day-to-day tasks. The primary responsibilities of the role will be to assist the team in conducting vehicle inspections. These inspections include checking the vehicles mileage, oil change history, fluid gages, and on-board safety equipment. This Organization mandated inspection is done by completing check off sheet. Various secondary tasks will be given to the position to complete throughout the summer. Confidential documents such as organization agreements, and employee personal information will need to be reorganized in a new efficient and effective manner. Prepare new hire training binders to ensure the correct content and professional presentation. Assist the supervisor in reviewing various monthly reports. When not conducting the aforementioned tasks, continuously research best practices used by other vanpool services. Formulate and present new ideas that can be implemented in the department. Other duties may be assigned by the position’s supervisor.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must be in pursuit of a high school or college diploma or equivalency. The position does require frequent travel with another Pace Suburban Bus employee. The candidate will not operate Pace vehicles. The candidate must also be able to work in an office environment. This job requires an individual to be detail oriented and proficient in verbal/written communication. The candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency in MS Suite, and a willingness to work autonomously. A qualified candidate should demonstrate an enthusiasm for researching new concepts and their implementation. This is a full-time temporary summer internship. The candidate work schedule will be Monday-Friday between 8:30-4:30 pm.
